Re: Arsenal - Birmingham delay telecast

being realistic is good...

but as an arsenal fan, sharing top spot at this point and still hoping to win the league is realistic, don't u agree? if we're some way off behind, then hoping to finish second will be realistic...

as for hoping MU will drop points in at least 2 games...yes, that's realistic of u...16 more games to play, including against Arsenal.

btw, ur name is sujith rite? u a new subscriber to this group?

My point is that we seem to lose momentum once in a while. Last match was
one we shud have wrapped up the 3 points but we tend to be a bit
over-confident sometimes...the way I see it we can afford to have only one
more bad game(and hope that MU will lose points in atleast two).
I am not giving up on the team but being a bit realistic...but having said
that, football is not played on the squad strength on paper...and lets hope
we build up from here.

I have decided to be realistic this year after having a lot of high hopes in
the last couple of seasons :) So there is less heartburn you see.
Yes I am very much a new subscriber to the group. And I do blog at

Im confident we can make a great come back wit the away game at fulham, hopefully persie will partner wit ade upfront.
Wit dudu n bendtner in bench.

i read dat lehmann is staying...moving back to germany would mean 2 things, a big pay cut (mebbe he's willing) and moving his family again (which he is not willing). he's taking a big risk and it might cost him his spot in the national team...

i was really expecting him to leave..but it seems now his priority is his family, not his dreams for international success...for that i must salute him...

To: arsenal-my@yahoogroups.comFrom: karheng83@hotmail.comDate: Sat, 12 Jan 2008 00:32:39 +0800Subject: AFCSM: Does it make sense to sign Didier Drogba?

Gooners,News of Anelka's signature for Chelsea as a direct replacement for Drogba is bound to create rumours. And I won't be surprised if Drogba is linked with Arsenal. Considering that Wenger did consider signing him before, it will be mumbling in Wenger's sub conscience again with the Ivorian set to be available again. But the real question here is, whether signing a Didier Drogba make any sense at all?We have Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor, Eduardo, and NIcklas Bendtner to lead the line, with Walcott also waiting eagerly to join the forefront. Personally, a very willing Eduardo and hardworking Nicklas is really enough. But the thought of having Didier Drogba burst the defences is just something too good to resist. Like him or loathe him, no one, in their right mind, would say that he is a lousy striker. Remember what he did for Chelsea last season? He's definitely not just a one season striker. With Eboue and Toure amongst the ranks, it may be just the right place for the Ivory Coast captain to resurge. Furthermore, we have far too many games to handle. But on paper, it doesn't make any sense to sign him. Eduardo is almost a fully fledged first team player, while Nicklas is raring for a go as well, inspiring and doing really well at the same time. Only Robin has been on the rocky road this season, while Adebayor has just missed far too many opportunities, albeit the amount of goals he has scored already. So will Didier Drogba join us? He's not 30 yet. He's got loads of strength and an eye for goal. He won't trouble Phillipe Senderos, and one thing's for sure, he'll get us some really vital goals..karheng__________________________________________________________Easily manage multiple email accounts with Windows Live Mail!http://www.get.live.com/wl/all[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

fren...points same maa...wat do u mean MU will have to screw up badly in the next few months and we have to play out of our skins? To finish on top of MU, Arsenal just need to get 1 point more than MU...MU does not have to screw up badly, they just need to screw up 1 time more than Arsenal...assuming chelsea don't go an amazing run of their own of coz...besides, Arsenal has always played out of their skins...

why not be optimistic? winning the title is still in Arsenal's hands...we still need to meet MU rite? lain la if MU is leading by a few points at this time...if that's the case, then we really need MU to screw up badly...

Are we sure that Arsenal does not have more fans than Chelsea. With ManU and
Liverfool I can understand. But I believe even those who are not Arsenal fan
enjoys watching Arsenal play.

I believe for Arsenal to be champions they have to rise to the occasion and
be more "brutal" in their attack. As of now unless Manure foul up the peep
us on champion quality. They are so dangerous in their attack and play a
faster attacking game then ours. Arsenal is very technical but they need to
play a faster game. Attack before all 11 players comes back to defend their
goal.

We will have all our games live next season if we win the league.
Well, since we knew the results before the delayed telecast, no urge to watch it and saved the precious sleep time.

Kind of like being underestimated, less pressure to the players, lower hope by the fans.
Still some games to be played.
Friends said that we drew games that we played badly and ManU lost those games.
Hope ManU have plenty of them left.

So is Chelsea, they really are waiting for the kill.
Their fans/players have started to talk big again.
Their bad streak of results is long overdue.

If I am not mistaken...Chelsea- Spurs match was earlier scheduled for Monday

So I think between Arsenal-B'gham and Chelse-Spurs, ESPN decided to show the
latter :(

Strategy to win any matches(FUTSAL or Outdoor)

Posted by: "aslamalhafiz" aslamalhafiz@yahoo.com   aslamalhafiz

Mon Jan 14, 2008 11:04 pm (PST)

I am now officially a left-back. When I played FUTSAL recently in the
mini tournament(FIF3, HTO Friday Futsal) I bear in mind not to let
any goal bolos into my goalkeeper. I focus on defending like hell. If
I see the guy is faster than me i will try to be faster than him. It
will tire me. But I know inside that I did my job well done.

Here are some advice which I can share with you guys. I always
preferred playing with mentality rather than physically. Mark the man
closely. Push him. Trouble him(touch his private part if you DARE,
well I did). That way you already won his striking position. No
matter how good he is if you trouble him he will be distracted. If he
complaints to the referee, you know what to do. Just ignore and
pretend you did nothing.

Another thing is having a chat with the opposition. Try smiling at
him. Talk about his personal life. Make friends with him. Now here's
the important part. If he makes an attemp on goal either shooting or
heading, tell him that what he just did is not good enough(actually
all attemps on goals are good but just not lucky enough). Teach him
the wrong way of doing it. That way he will always have doubt on his
own cappabilities.

When you are in control of a ball, try being like the sotong. Use
your hands guys. Have you learned anything form ronaldinho? Smack
that says AKON. But do it like it's a mistake and apologize to the
player. He will accept it but always watch out the consequnces.
Beware of the player will get to you back. Try to run from injuries.
Do it like TOTTI(stamp him with your studs,ha ha)if he tries to get
to you with two-footed tackle.

All of these things might have award you with a few coloured cards.
Or maybe even worse, an ugly scene. If it happens, try to solve the
matters on the field. You can forgive but you can never forget.
That's why for me, I always felt satisfied of what I did. It might be
crazy but believe me even if the team lost, you will always remember
the MATCH OF YOUR LIFE.

MOE WENGER(019-2734213)
p.s:- share more ideas with me before the match. ha ha ha....

Subject: AFCSM: Strategy to win any matches(FUTSAL or Outdoor)

How to play LAST MAN

Posted by: "aslamalhafiz" aslamalhafiz@yahoo.com   aslamalhafiz

Did you know Gilberto Silva styles of play? He overshadowed you. If you
are defender and facing opponents with the ball, dont go for him. Let
he comes to you. If you realized that there are many space behind you
until the goalkeeper, try backing up a bit. That way he will not have
enough space to run if he overtakes you.

DONT DO THIS if he have two players helping him on his right and left.
Try to read where he would pass the ball. Make a little movement to
either side and tackle him the other way. It always worked. If he tries
to shoot, be the dare devil and block him all the way. Throw your body.

I know how to play waterboy! Make sure all the water is clean...make sure you have them prepared and ready. When someone fall injured or ball go out, pass the water to the players properly...dun simply throw...must treat water with respect... hehehehe

As striker, keep composure and very easy to get into 1 on 1 positions....cos not premiership...

just round the keeper and score...

As goalkeeper, just jump for every ball and block with your hand, face, body, leg...whateva la...can block and dun let it enter...that's the best!

Dear Gooners ,

Enclosed are the name that will be presenting AFCSM (final);

1. Naim (012-3450889)
2. Embi (Defender)
3. Kamal (Defender @ defensive midfielder) (0169226627).
4. Hafidz Bai (Left back)
5. Firdaus (Striker)
6. Sugu (Right back @ defensive midfield)
7. Wayu Sagna (Midfield)
8. Adnin (Midfield/Striker)

9. Shairul (Defense / Midfield - Center / Right) (019-3004360)
10. Fikry (Striker)
11. Ram Prashad (H/P 012-6544006 )

17. Mukhlis
18. Moe Wenger (0192734213)
19. Lan Persie
20. Shahnaz (State Goal keeper ni..)

Penyertaan telah ditutup..

Please come early (as what Embi said) before 3.30. Match starts at 3.30.
so u guys know when to arrive there.. According to Mazlan 'Lanun', we
will try to get 45 minutes each half if we can start on time.
The game are supposed to end at 5.15 (team lain plak nk pakai pdg).

Thus for those who confirm their name, di WAJIBKAN hadir. If AWOL mcm
Sol Campbell mase Arsenal lwn West Ham 2 years ago, that person will be
suspended from playing in the next game..(next game quite interesting
FYI, but can't tell u guys now lor, heheh).

Pls wear red jersey.

opps, wait guys!! forgot something la..(fuhh, penting ni ;-) ), as
usual, AFCSM won't be our 'penaja' for this game.. so, we have to use
our own few bugs utk byr pdg (collect ramai2 lor). Collection before the
kick-off.

Can someone enlighten me as to why they delay telecast this match in favour

of Chelsea and Liverpool playing at the same time? Arsenal the league leader

should surely get the priority. Sigh. But Arsenal online got live.but must

pay money. Any other idea how to get live? At the same time if I am going to

watch the delay telecast, I try not to know the result and that means not

watching Chelsea or Liverfool play because there will be a ticker passing

below the screen telling you the results of other matches including Arsenal.

If I am not mistaken...Chelsea-Spurs match was earlier scheduled for Monday
night, but had to be advanced due to Spurs FA cup replay...
So I think between Arsenal-B'gham and Chelse-Spurs, ESPN decided to show the
latter :(

Frustrated too, but no worries dude.
Same points with with Man Utd, they have superior goal scored only.
